This is my Christmas present to my DA friends!
No, it’s not terribly late; in my country we exchange presents the 6 of Jan in emulation to the biblical present offering of the Wise Men from the East, the Three Wise Kings, to Jesus. I post it here with a little advance so Julie can see it before leaving again.

I bet any of you expected something like this!
I’m not a MyLittlePony maniac (on the contrary of what the following comment might give away: that’s not fandom, that’s research) but I’ve been wanting to draw ponies for a while, they are simple to design and you can do almost anything with them, and I absolutely loved those toys when I was a child (one of the few typically girly things I ever did!) so it came to me to draw them for you.
I drew them trying to make your very own pony the one you would like the best among this pack (even if you don’t like ponies); it’s for you to decided if I succeeded.

Background on the pic:

Well, first of all I have to apologize for the poor quality of the most of the line arts. Due to Window Vista’s boycott to my scanner I had to use a very old one instead so the quality has dropped death (which, knowing what a hell of work they have been it’s a bit sad).
Anyhow, even if there are some things to fix (like somber black lines that should be colored and that), I think this is enough to enjoy the pics, so here they are.

Hope you like them!

The blank space? That’s the place for my pony, but I want to hear your thoughts before drawing it: what kind of pony do you think it should be? Which colors? Which symbol? Which background? Etc.

:bulletblue: Comment on each pony:

:iconnoe-izumi: ‘s.
I imagined what *Noe-Izumi would be doing if she was a Ponyville’s habitant and I couldn’t help but to see her managing one of those cute pony boutiques (the ones from back then, the modern ones are beyond preppiness), and, knowing her, it’s more than likely that it would be a costume boutique. And this is where this pony comes from.
The pony holds a deliberate resemblance with her HP character Anabel even though it was doodled before *Noe-Izumi run up the no-price-contests on her
:pointr: This pony is designed after the earthy ponies of the year 3 (cute as the year’s 1 and 2 but growing more stylized); simple body and eyes, smooth design. A classic. I went wild about the symbol though, making it completely different from those generations’ cannon ones.

:iconnull-entity:
What can I say? Just thinking about ~Null-Entity in Ponyville puts the concept of “rebel/badass pony” into my head. I wonder what this pony works at (because all BB ponies have cool manly jobs), maybe the town’s DJ? ;P
:pointr: Designed after the Big Bother Ponies (years 5 and 6); quite a simple design too, but with heads slightly bigger than the regular ponies to the date, hairy hoof and a few accessories.

:iconsilent-lands:
My sis’! I usually say that ~Silent-Lands ‘s character elements are crystal, night and music; her pony has all of that. In the Ponyville-verse I see this one as a special kind of pony in the way the Fluttery Ponies were special in the animated series.
:pointr: Originally, this pony was derivate from the Summer Wing and Flutter Wing ponies (years 4 and 6) but it evolved differently, even incorporating some Sparkle Ponies’ (year 7) features and a glittering gem like the Brush&Grow ones (year 7). As a whole it makes a quite eclectic pony, probably the one most influenced by the newest toys (tiny body, face shape, symbol density, symbol in the ankle and the eye, etc.).

:iconanimango:
Stylized, flashing and fancy, with lots of complements. That’s the way a pony for ~AniMango must be. A kind of pony which must simply fit as Ponyville’s idol singer or something similar.
:pointr: This one is a variation on the Sweetheart Sister Ponies (year 7) and, maybe, a bit on the Prom Queen Sweetheart Sister ones (year 8) ones too. Eyes inspired on the Twinkle Eyed ponies of the year 5.

:iconjuditangelo:
First of all, this is one of the most damaged pics by the poor quality of the scanner, so sorry, I’ll fix it as soon as possible. Apart of the obvious reasons for the water kind choice, I imagined ~Juditangelo as a very temperamental pony and, according the animated series, the water ponies enjoy a lot aggressive sports. I think this pony could make a nice tomboy sporty one.
:pointr: Fancy Mermaid Pony (year 10) and Sea Pony (year 2) inspired, but instead of putting a chest symbol I kept it at the side. It also incorporates an ankle symbol to match the modern toys. I made it more like a hippocampus than like a seahorse to make it more interesting.

:iconeugenech:
I saw ~EugeneCh ’s pony as a magical one, so , naturally, I made her a lovely unicorn mage. The thing is that, since she has just been a mother, I couldn’t simply draw a magical her forgetting about it, so I included her lovely twins (Jong and Young) in the pic too!
:pointr: Eugene’s pony is inspired on the Glittery Sweetheart Ponies (year 8) and on the Pretty Pony ones(year 10). Since I can’t stand that post XIX century fashion of making unicorns look like horned horses, and even if MLP unicorns are actually that way, I fixed the design to match a more uniconrnesque style.
The babies were drawn after the Newborn and Newborn Twins ponies (years 5-7) and the Drink&Wet baby ponies (check the diaper!).

:icontkay:
I think the best possible comment on this one was my sis’s appreciation when she saw it: “so cute, it looks like an ice-cream!”
Hehe, in fact it’s more like the curry pony.
:pointr: Inspired on the Sunday Best ponies (year 6), for symbol style, and the Playtime Baby Brother Ponies (year 7), for body style and accessories.

:iconguidingchaos:
This is the urban pony! A simple as that :D
And pink makes it even more punk :giggle:
:pointr: Honestly, I lost the paper on which I wrote down the references for this one. I guess it might be made after the Rainbow Ponies (year 2) since they are the ones whose symbols are entirely made of glitter.

Ok, now. See the profile under your pony? (taken from the ones at the toy’s box) You get to fill the profile blanks! (Remember that it’s a pony, so it must have an unbearably sweet name XDD)
If you want I can post yours individually as soon as I fix them, your choice.

Sorry for the watermark but I’ve been finding my pics on the weirdest places lately.

A question: how do you see colors?
On my browser they look quite saturated but I’ve noticed that what on mine is flashy it’s a bit dull on some others.

Commissions are love!
Hey guess what! So my name Amber actually comes from a my little pony, I had always known this and I thought it was kind of neat. I had never been able to find any information on this pony though. But since you brought them up I looked it up again and was able to find out this much:
Amber (Bon Bon's little sister)
White body/purple hair/pink lollipop/green eyes
<3 I've been looking around at episodes on youtube hoping she would show up <3

You can use your own for the pony if you like, but you can also make up completely new ones.

And about how my pony should be, don't forget!
